CONTROLLER – KINGS CREEK COUNTRY CLUB

Kings Creek Country Club (KCCC) is seeking an experienced and highly capable Controller to lead the Club’s accounting and financial operations. This role is a key member of the senior leadership team and serves as a strategic partner to the General Manager/COO, Executive Team, and Board of Directors.

The Controller will provide financial leadership, oversight, and operational controls to ensure the long-term financial health, accuracy, and efficiency of the Club. The ideal candidate brings strong private club, hospitality, or resort accounting experience, exceptional leadership skills, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.

INITIAL PRIORITIES OF THE POSITION

  • Provide leadership and oversight of all accounting functions
  • Establish strong operational and financial controls
  • Build effective working relationships with the GM/COO, Board, and department heads
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and transparent financial reporting
  • Lead and support the Senior Accounting Specialist

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND APTITUDE

  • Direct all financial and accounting operations of the Club
  • Prepare and oversee monthly financial statements, trial balances, and supporting schedules
  • Develop, manage, and monitor annual budgets and financial forecasts
  • Analyze budget-to-actual variances and recommend corrective actions
  • Prepare financial reports for the Board of Directors and Finance Committee
  • Oversee internal audits, external audits, and compliance processes
  • Supervise payroll, tax filings, accounts payable/receivable, and member billing
  • Manage inventory controls and fixed asset accounting
  • Safeguard Club funds and oversee banking and investment activities
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate accounting staff
  • Attend Board, Finance Committee, and other meetings as required
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting/finance leadership experience
  • Private club, hospitality, or resort experience strongly preferred
  • CPA, advanced degree, or CHAE certification a plus
  • Experience with club accounting software (Jonas, Paylocity preferred)
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Salary Range: $120,000 – $140,000 (commensurate with experience)
