The Opportunity

Yahnundasis Golf Club is seeking a creative, member-focused Executive Chef to lead all culinary operations at one of Central New York’s most historic and respected private clubs. This is an opportunity to shape the Club’s dining identity, elevate menu quality, and deliver exceptional dining experiences for members, guests, banquets, and special events.

INITIAL PRIORITIES OF THE POSITION

  • Evaluate current culinary operations, menus, staff capabilities, and kitchen workflows
  • Establish clear standards for food quality, presentation, sanitation, and consistency
  • Build strong relationships with members, leadership, and front-of-house teams
  • Refresh menu offerings for a high-quality member dining experience
  • Review and improve ordering, inventory, and cost-control systems
  • Develop and train the culinary team on new standards and execution

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & APTITUDE

  • Lead all menu development for dining and special events
  • Oversee all food production, quality control, and plating standards
  • Manage culinary staff hiring, scheduling, training, and performance
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, sanitation, and regulatory guidelines
  • Maintain food cost targets, inventory systems, and vendor relationships
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and F&B Director on budgeting and strategic planning
  • Provide an exceptional culinary experience aligned with member expectations
  • Execute banquets and large events with precision and creativity
  • Stay current with culinary trends and incorporate them into offerings where appropriate

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience as an Executive Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a private club, resort, hotel, or high-end restaurant
  • Formal culinary education preferred
  • Demonstrated success managing a diverse culinary team
  • Strong financial and administrative skills
  • Experience with banquet production and multi-outlet operations
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
